Gratitude and how living with a mindset of gratitude can make you happy
Wow! March already the time seems to breeze by, as we get closer to our wedding date.
We have gotten a lot of things all coming together and it will be June before I know it. But for now it is March.
On
the first I had my birthday and I also started researching and thinking about
what I wanted to write about for March. I needed something that would hold you
until April ![]()
So I decided that I wanted to talk about is gratitude and how living with a mindset of gratitude can make you happy, and bring you the success you strive for in life, and in business.
So take a moment to set up a little “feng shui ” in your heart and start the day with thank you, be it in prayer, words to someone you are grateful for, be it silent reverence for a past helping hand or a current mentor, teacher friend whomever and whatever you know that adds to your life and that relationship event strengthens you and blesses you to be the best person you can be.
When you do that you will see it come back to you tenfold, but do not do it because you are counting the thank yous and I am so grateful fors thinking that you will see a return as that alone will diminish the purpose that you have humbled yourself before God, those you love, those who have benefited you and moments in your life past or present that bless you every day.
When you live in gratitude you will draw positive energy to you and positive results for your actions. It also teaches you to turn negatives into positives.
Instead of saying or thinking “I hate sitting in traffic after work”. Be grateful in the times we live in that you have a job.
Or
“I have no time with my family, no time for myself. This business I am in is killing me” instead be thankful you are able to strike out on your own, that you are able to do so for your family and your future
It is hard to complain about small things when you are grateful that you are healthy, have a home to live in food on the table and your children are safe and healthy as well. When you complain about what is wrong with your life,
Instead remember to be grateful for those in it and who have contributed to it, that shift in thinking reminds you to thank others. And one of my favorite songs What a wonderful World sums it all up.
And I think to myself what a wonderful world. And when you live in gratitude that will not just a song anymore, but becomes a way you approach life.
So remember
THANK YOU….
Those two simple words can be as powerful as those three little words and in in some cases thank you goes with, I love you. But when you stop to recognize and present the gift of gratitude to those that deserve it in your life you fill theirs with joy and joy comes back to you.
When you stop to bow your head in prayer and give thanks you shine a light on the goodness that is abound and are rewarded with the abundance that such an act which cost you little not only brings untold happiness to others and makes God smile but it will do the same for you. You will find great inner happiness and a smile is sure to follow.
You can start right now and then think about it every day what am I, grateful for? I have always kept a journal and if I do not get it down it words on a daily basis it is my last thought at night that I give thanks to God and I make sure that the people who have honored me with their wisdom, love, friendship and business know that I am better for those relationships and I appreciate them.
Also as you begin to live a life of gratitude think about also being grateful for the challenges and things that when they occurred may have seemed a negative or a hardship. Take them as lessons you can gain wisdom from, and grow stronger.
The following prayer I love and really brings that last thought home as to the power of turning your mindset to gratitude even in the most difficult situations and proves that old saying when you get handed lemons make lemonade.
Be Thankful:
Be
thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
if you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be
thankful when you don’t know something
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be
thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be
thankful for your limitations
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be
thankful for each new challenge
because it will build your strength and character.
Be
thankful for your mistakes
they will teach you valuable lessons.
Be
thankful when you’re tired and weary
because it means you’ve made a difference.
It
is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE
can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.
