What Everybody Ought to Know About Giving thanks facing loses and developing the you to succeed
What have all those subjects got in common? Very simple, they are part of life. I am in a melancholy mood today. My Labrador Punky, my four legged she child of nearly 16 years passed away on Saturday. I brought her into the world and sadly yesterday the long chapter closed on a remarkable spark that graced this world and it is better for it, as were those that knew her.
Some would say she was a dog.
And others would say she was SOME dog!
And prior to that as most Americans did we sat down with family to share our gratitude and some of our precious time on Thursday and reflected on life both past and present as well as what is to come.
And I looked at my sons now as adults and can see the passing of that time and with all the changes we have endured some challenging some heart breaking the loses of those we loved and things we hold dear to the pull yourself up and get back on that old horse as what choice do any of us have? To the big wins, and little victories we all celebrate in exchange for that time. And I realized I am OK with it.
I talked about the trade off of time in The Wrath of Hurricane Sandy earlier this month and other of life’s challenges as this precious commodity more valuable than all the gold and riches in the world needs to be bartered with selectively or it will just rush by with nothing to show for the loss.
My goal here is not only to teach you to succeed, but show you a way to live so that you do succeed. I have often taught others the basic beliefs in post like Using Brian Klemmer’s 10 Principles that with in building character you become the you that you wish to be and begin to develop how you will approach all aspects of your life. You set disciplines or you go awry. You forge ahead to what you want or you settle.
I want you to look back on the time that has passed and be, proud of what you did with it and use it wisely in the future.
So today’s age old wisdom is:
1. do not forget the I love yous
2. let your customers and partners know you appreciate them
3. can’t over empathize, that old give away value thing
4. pay it forward
5. be a giver not a taker it will come back ten fold in business and in life

person, come help and be that one person, one step becomes one million as we
help each other. Go take a look if you have ever asked yourself what I can do

Well start with-be the person you want others to see, and the person you’d want to know, do business with, trust with your kids and would leave your keys with when you went on vacation.
Be humble as it makes you strong, be grateful it brings abundance, cherish those you love as I said time is so fleeting and you blink and it is gone so do not waste one day on hate or negativity instead be the person that others swear gives off sunshine and let them bask in your warmth.
Be missed when you are not there, be not easily forgotten, stand out, help out, say please and thank you and mean both. Grow every day in yourself and how you do business add one new thing each month to discover.
Play! Laugh! Give it all you got, then walk away for a time, stand your ground, compromise both make you a better person. Honesty and a smile will go a long way. Make your mother proud. Make God prouder.
In other words live like this is the only life you got :)
