Oh my another year has gone by

Oh my another year has gone by, and here we are again seems we just reached the end of 2012  and now  we are saying goodbye to 2013.

This year has brought home to me that classic old song written from a Scottish poem in 1788 by Robert Burns and sung on New Year’s Eve Auld Lang Syne. NOT Old Anzine. :)When translated into English it literally means “old long since”, or “long long ago”,days gone by” or “old times”.

Auld Lang Syne used too seem to belong to that bygone era of gentleman in white powdered wigs and women in stiff round petticoats, but as I get older I can see the reflection of the year and life passing by every generation in that song and Auld Lang Syne is widely used to symbolize both endings or new beginnings by many English speaking countries and even organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America.

So Auld Lang Syne fits 2013, for us anyway.

This year for me has been filled with hard work, a little play, learning to deal with the loss of my mother , deciding to get married, and coming to a place that we are full circle here.

I started this blog with the intent to teach others the tools I myself have used to become successful in business, online and off. I have walked you through from setup to specialty articles. I have with mostly original content, tried to impart unto you the importance of character, ethics, and values. I’ve taught, you the power of reputation and honesty. I showed you shortcuts, and tools to help grow your business, dispelled myths and gave honest reviews of various companies- the good and the not so good. And told you what others would not about Network Marketing.  And on some topics did it all again in other articles along different lines.

So in a sense this is now my Auld Lang Syne, as unlike some bloggers that go on and on about the same thing when they run out of topics or each article is just a sales letter for something, my blog was created to teach and to give back and I have. So time for me again. I pay it forward every day and those that know me know that. But sometimes when you are both a rescuer and giver personality you can lose you in the process. I am good at that.

Over these past 2 years I taught you how to have more time while spending most of my time trying to help you succeed and reach dreams that some of you say you want, or say you think you want, and neither of those mindsets will snatch that star from the Heavens you claim is your dream. You have to do, you have to take action, follow through NOT quit to even have a chance to reach your goal.

But it starts with a dream and then you have to look up and then reach to pull that star from the sky, not just wonder if it is too far away. If you never put your hand out to see, you can grasp nothing by wanting, or even by looking if your hand stays at your side. If I teach you nothing else here besides character you have to keep doing, you have to take action and you MUST not quit! That applies to everything in life.

And speaking of life…

Next year I am getting married, we will take some time for us and I will take some time for me. I have taken you to a point in Network Marketing that you should be able to make the future you want if you really want it. But, it is up to you to get moving. And for those of my followers that are successful and using some of the tools I have laid out here, you have your wings you can already fly I wish you much continued success and a life of abundance.

With that said, there are changes coming here in 2014, I will go more into the different direction I want to take my blog in my next article.

But today I am not going to make any New Year’s resolutions as I am trying to live more in the present and pay attention to the now than what I plan to do in time not given yet.

I have become older and wiser in just months, as watching a loved one come to a place they believe is their last few months to live, even when you denied it and refused to allow reality in the door, when it happens you either grow or you wither.

I chose to not only grow, but to learn and to use what I have learned. And I first used some of that knowledge to share my mom and the woman she was with you here, as I have always shared her words throughout this blog that still echo in my head and influence my life. The sayings, and the mantras our parents use to teach us that grind like nails on a chalkboard in youth, bring comfort and an unbroken thread, in adulthood.

And I smile at the many times her words, and her beliefs, for a better world, pop into my head almost daily and realize no matter how you run as a child, you come back to those values and teachings that are your mom’s.

So the loss of my Mom earlier this year to lung cancer is part of the reason that I will be moving into a new direction here, and we will be taking a different road in other areas business wise, in 2014.

So I leave you today, with part of my last conversation with mom. Mom and I were talking about time, and she was trying to tell me she thought hers was limited and how she was worried about dad, I tried to put a positive spin on the conversation, as I was not able to let her go in that direction, as I did not want my Mom to die.

But, she went on, and told me, that she still enjoyed every day God gave her. And she was grateful for the sun on each day. That everything was sharper, and seemed intensified, color was brighter and everyday things seemed magnified as in a pleasure to be a part of. That there was only joy in her heart, every day she opened her eyes.

But, she also said, you find what out what is important and what you are willing to spend your precious allotment of time on when yours is running out. It again made me think of Tim McGraw’s song Sky Diving, I had used in a tribute to her in another article for this blog. And why is it we only learn to live, when we are waiting to die?

Well I am not. I am, taking Mom’s words to heart and having no regrets on what I trade my time for, and it is no longer what I have been doing for too long now. Time is worth much than that. I hope you that you also are blessed with the freedom to choose how you spend your allotted amount of time as well.

Happy New Year everyone!
