I am late at coming to the table with Pinterest.
Funny besides being a writer, the artist label also has always applied to me. And few people have more images on their computer either taken by myself family of created by me. And I KNOW the power of images, but I was just too busy to play!
Friends and colleges kept saying you gotta jump on you can just feel the buzz here- this is big!
Pinterest is it the next trend? Visual Response Marketing.
Remember how you felt when you discovered you could not only connect with people you knew but could make friends across your town, your state the country and then the world when myspace came out? And how we in business figured out how we could put that to use?
Or when facebook came along and streamlined the bulkiness of myspace to a sleek easy to navigate medium that took off for personal and business use alike?
Well Pinterest is those two and more ten fold. Why? Because it catches your eye, and your emotions. It triggers the same emotional reaction that the adorable puppy who shows up in your email box does and that feeling you get that causes you to scroll thorough the entire series of cute and silly babies your friends sent you, so does Pinterest touch that emotional trigger, by visual response.
Like stumbleon which is great for surfing web pages by subject and your interest list, Pinterest lets you surf the eye candy of your desires, no matter what it is you like to look at. It can be baby animals to beautiful sunsets to hot cars or hot food and more.
BUUUUUT it is even better as it links where you got that picture from, or if you upload your own, you can include a link that is relevant to your picture or your business. Each time you pin a photo to your custom made boards you get the chance to write about the photo ANYTHING you want to share.
So say you are selling bridal dresses- well show off your beautiful summer line AND plug your company on every picture- showcase your great wedding cakes, ANYTHING! It is a ready made story board for you to create that story and it can be used to personalize your brand, yourself, your family, your life and also your company.
And for your Network Marketing business put up those motivating pictures, and put up your web page in your description, or take the pictures off your site and let Pinterest capture the url for you and you just write what you want to share about your company and products on the site.

Hmmmmm….. Well I see a community bulletin board of old here, a place people gather around to see who is advertising what, the local yard sales and oh my the little girl down the street is now old enough to babysit, and look the elderly lady who lived a few blocks away has passed on and they are having an estate sale.
That was your “internet” where I grew up and it is a folksy way for staying up on what was what in our town.
Pinterest has the makings of being that in this big city of cyberspace we live in now. Where we can get lost trying to cover all the places we need to hang out or be seen in order to succeed. This sweet easy to use little site is going to become that old cork board outside the general store where everyone will eventually come to check out the goings on of the town. If you have not already done so, I advise you to stop by and stay awhile as you all know the center of every little town was that cozy ol’s store. And you be sure to pin your ad and wares there, because everyone else will.
