The Shocking Truth about Distractions
I want to in this week’s post address something we all tend to get mired down in, in fact it is a big reason my blog last week was dashed off on Monday and why so many of you end up playing catch up in your own growing businesses.
Though at times I do not take
my own advice, you know those that do, do and those that don’t teach 
I got asked once Sandy you write such great motivational
material and are so good at getting people all fired up for a cause or project
why do you so often fail to keep on task yourself? And I told her, because I am
too busy making sure you do.
So what is the #1 enemy to your Network Marketing business success?
You may answer procrastination and YES that is a big one, if you do not take action you will not succeed. But sometimes too much action can also bring your company growth to a stand still. What am I talking about? It is all the white noise all the distractions and side roads that divert you from your goal.
The Shocking Truth about Distractions
So I am gonna lay out a few of my tools, that I sometimes get too busy to remember, but I am good at balancing on a high wire and juggling a bunch of balls, if you are not and you would like to have things be a little less hectic than the 1000 miles an hour I go at each day, then this may help you.
1. Make a list of what your goals are for the day.
2. get away from the social media- by that I mean close the facebook, etc. Only block out a certain amount of time each week , that you do social marketing and stick to it.
Also pick your networking sites carefully, by which bring you the best bang for your buck!
3. close the games, brain teasers, Outlook and whatever else program/browser you have open at the same time- only leave the page/program open you are actually using to help your business. And finish there before you open another as mutable pages mean mutable distractions.
Don’t get caught up in reading business ebooks and research when you are to be working there should be time allotted for that in off hours- yeah needing to keep up can suck, but is a necessary part of having your own business, but can also swamp you and gobble up your day, so use it as a tool not a distraction.
4. In your allotted business hours, consider where you spend your time each day, and is it really beneficial to your business growth- if not drop that activity.
5. turn off Skype and the cell phone, while you are working online, then block off a time you check your messages and return calls and then just return the business calls, during that time.
6. Set yourself a regular work week and hours and try and stay on them. Review your list and see if you are staying within your blocked out times and regulating your day well to really concentrate on the task at hand.
7. Give your full attention, complete the project (or at least get to where you hoped to that day) and then move on to the next thing on your list.
8. Remember work is work and family time is family time do not mix them. Be present and ready to drive your business and make your future during business hours daydream about where you are going when you close the laptop or turn out the lights each day.
So less white noise and fluff, trying to be all things to everyone will turn you into a frantic mess! So prioritize! And then stick to it.
9. Remember to play when you are not working, but use your time wisely when you are.
10. Go over your list each night and make notes, where you could do better. Also revise your list as needed, and review where you spend your time periodically so you stay on top of the needless distractions. But, also do not fail to utilize an important tool you may be overlooking, to help you grow.
By limiting the distractions and time consumers, setting clear goals keeping an eye on the prize, by being the type of worker you, yourself would want to hire, every day you sit down to work is the way to success!
