I sat down today to write my blog, and share with you a couple of new free web tools I have discovered for making splash pages, but my mind is far away this week.
The beauty of being a writer and this being my forum is I can veer off subject and find other lessons in what I choose to point out and the relevance to all of our lives even when I may not have had that in mind when I started.
See my Mom is fighting cancer, she has fought her entire life to remain healthy and bucked the odds when others would have laid down and died. But now the western medical field has declared that there is nothing more they can do for her this time, so they sent her home to die last week.
My brother asked her was there anything she wanted to do or see? And she wanted to go see his church. My Mom is a homebody who it has always been hard to get her out of the house and now that her time is limited, she chooses to live.
Funny how that is, we decide to live when there may be no time left to do so.
Like Tim McGraw’s song “Live like you were dying”.
For those of you who have not heard it, listen to this song and you will see what I mean.
Now I do not share this with you today because it is cathartic for me to write, though it is, but I could do that in private, and have. And her family is not just blindly accepting this expiration date her doctors have placed on her. We will find a holistic way to give her more time and it will be quality time. But the truth is in the end we do not have the power to stop what will be, really none of us do. We are all gonna die sometime someday.
But what gets me about dying (and we start that process the minute we take our first breath) is WHY do so many wait to live until they are looking at death? Why do people choose to be the person they always wanted to be, take that trip they dreamed of for years, say the I love yous that they have been holding back, say I’m sorry and mean it, forgive old hurts. Or choose to better the lives of those that will be left behind, when they get that kind of news?
If you have not read the book the Million Dollar Year I recommend it, as our hero in the book was given a year to live, yet he knew his family would not be taken care of, he had wasted too much time saying he would do, and procrastinating- what would he do now? Well he did die, that could not be stopped but he also blew his goal outta the water in Network Marketing! Because he stopped saying one day and started saying NOW! As he had no more one days, he had one year.
I wish we all could harness that energy that drive to live like each day was our last. As we only know we have now, none of us really knows if we have tomorrow.
So why do we put it off? Why do we say I will lose 10 pounds when…? Why when we are presented with a way to tell that boss so long, think I will read about that business or opportunity later, or I will try that later? And many of us never do. Why can’t we all make the choice to enjoy our lives, better our lives, live the life we want NOW! Not wait until there is no more time to do so?
Warning were all gonna die!
So say the I love yous, sometimes eat desert first, be a little selfish, be a lot giving. Decide what you want, lay down a plan and go do it TODAY!
Hug your parents they will not be here tomorrow, and that time gets here so fast for us all. Don’t blink; your kids will be grown! But most of all if you are lucky enough to look back over a long life be happy with it. I believe we never regret what we did as we lay dying; only what we failed to do. My Mom wants to go see a church, what would you want to do if you were told it was your time?
Well do it NOW!!!!
And as far as helping you with your business. My people have been asking for more free tools so I am gonna share a couple more tools I found. The first company is Viral Add Management. Here is a sample of a splash page I did You can make a Sudo capture page you can add graphics/pictures and text to. Then splash it all over the net! Great for Traffic Exchanges and Solo ads as the capture page is quick to read.
The other one is Instant Squeeze Page Generator and allows a more custom page- Second splash page BUT I have not found a way to add opt in boxes (but if you do not have an auto responder you would not want that feature anyway), But you can add links, so I have linked to an iLA page on this blog. If you want to join and use these tools use the company links on my splash pages to join. Just decline all the offers to buy in and use the free tools.
But whatever you do, do it today!
