Networking and the Buddy System- LinkedIn- and more
Today I want to continue our 3 part series on Networking and the Buddy System with LinkedIn and two other sites I have seen a lot of return with Her Social Network and Chime.in.
But LinkedIn is the oldest most well known of the three. What is not known to a lot of people is it is more of a business and Marketing tool than it looks. Sure you can post your resume and employers do recruit from there, but with the forums and answer section you can grow your brand help others with their questions find solutions and become the go to person that will drive up your value and garner you both followers and customers.
Five ways that you can use LinkeIn to develop your brand and further grow you business are
1. You can link you accounts
Like I mentioned in Friday’s post Networking and the Buddy System- Twitter, LinkedIn will post your updates to other social media
sites like Twitter and Facebook.
2. You can build your connection
list
By creating a buddy list in your industry or profession, you can develop the
relationships within your network.
3. Answer Questions- send emails
You can send personal emails when you respond to questions in the Answer
section to the people who are seeking advice.
4. Join Groups and forums
You can develop both a following and share your business and products and
updates on open forums and within the group format.
5. And this last one will be another blogger’s post as like in the prior post I put up and shared a blogger’s Twitter ideas. Here again, are a great many uses that deserve sharing, so I am. This blog post has 55 ways to use LinkedIn in Business the blogger is Carol Roth
The other two social networks I want to share today are new very New Her social Network formed on Sept 011 and Cime.in started in Oct 011.
Her is a very nice place to make connections and grow your brand if you are a woman as it is site setup by women for women and you can link your Facebook to your page and cross post updates there are career groups and forums and it is a great place to develop relationships to help build your business. You can post your events and showcase who you are and what your company is about. It’s new and growing and I joined when there were just a handful of members, but I see it as a valuable tool to female business owners.
Chime.in is another new kid on the block but building fast in fact the servers went down Saturday due to the increase in traffic and the people are very interactive there. I see this as a good way to drive traffic and build relationships. In my own business I have already had both followers and people who regularly give me blog and site feedback.
So I recommend beside the social medias we all know that you check out these two as well and maybe sign up say hello and start branding yourself and creating relationships and networking as we never know where our business buddies will come from. The cost is right in social media a bit of your time and loyalty can generate you huge returns.
